
This past week I made a German salad that was not only delicious but also nutritious.
The salad was sweet, tangy, and above all flavorful as fuck.
I started with freshly cut lettuce and greens from our garden then topped it with grilled chicken bratwurst, diced apples, cold sauerkraut and a mustard curry vinaigrette that I made on the fly.

It was a well balanced healthy summery meal compared to its warm version of traditional brats, hot sauerkraut, and apple sauce.
Same flavor profile just done in a modern new way. German food doesn’t always have to be brown and full of fat.
If I ever find those chicken brats, which were pretty damn good, I’ll buy a few packages and we can have this meal again all summer long.
